I... think so. Back when they were new, I remember them wearing this older style badge on the trunk lid and in the grill (this is for sure the badge on the original C4 generation Audi 100 S4):

But all I see anymore is the style that was used from the B6 onward. Maybe it changed partway through the run or maybe these were part of some option package.
